Flaming Lips Pitchfork Music Festival 2009

The Flaming Lips closed down the festival. Their performance was one part rock concert, one part Blue Man Group. Wayne walked around the crowd in a giant inflatable ball. It was a very emotional moment with all of the confetti snowing down on you and everyone in the crowd asking rhetorically if you realized that happiness makes you cry. Even Max broke his usual imperturbability and broke down openly weeping at the beauty and magic of it all.
